Today's Grammar

没有 (méiyǒu) negates 有 (to have). 了 (le) at the end of a sentence shows an action is completed.

我没有狗。
Wǒ méiyǒu gǒu.
I do not have a dog.
我吃了。
Wǒ chī le.
I have already eaten.
我家有猫,没有狗。
Wǒ jiā yǒu māo, méiyǒu gǒu.
My family has a cat, not a dog.
什么时候下雨?
Shénme shíhou xiàyǔ?
When will it rain?
我看了电影。
Wǒ kàn le diànyǐng.
I have watched a movie.
