This Pinyin course takes 21 days and teaches Mandarin's sound system from zero to fluent — there's no "vocabulary list" to memorize like the other courses. Instead you'll learn all 23 consonant initials, nearly 36 vowel finals, all 4 tones plus the neutral tone, special spelling rules, and tone sandhi (how tones change next to each other).

This course is for absolute beginners, and we strongly recommend finishing it *before* starting HSK1 — correct pronunciation and tones are the single most important foundation in Mandarin. Get a tone wrong, and the meaning of the word changes completely!
