Learn by Songs 2 — Introduction — Welcome to Course 2! One Step Harder
"Learn by Songs 2" is the sequel to Course 1, built on the same idea: instead of copyrighted modern pop songs, we use 30 classical Chinese poems that are public domain — every author died at least 700-900 years ago. But this course is one notch harder: most poems here are seven-character quatrains or eight-line regulated verses (rather than Course 1's simpler five-character quatrains), and the content runs a bit deeper and more complex, suited to students who have finished the beginner course. Each day covers one poem: the original text, pinyin, an original English/Thai translation, historical context, key vocabulary drawn from the poem itself, a short quiz, and (where a good one could be found) a real YouTube video of the poem being sung or recited. 30 days of deeper, more challenging, and more rewarding classical Chinese.
